During my pregnancy, I read everything I could about natural childbirth and newborn care. There were many important decisions I would have to make as a new mother. How and where I would give birth, ways to naturally cope with the pain, and if I would I use formula or nurse. Some were no-brainers for me. I had recently read “Sacred Woman”, a book by Queen Afua. She is a master healer & pioneer in the womb wellness and holistic healing movement. I learned a lot about various teas & herbal remedies to use for a healthy pregnancy and how to prepare for childbirth. I also knew I wanted to deliver naturally and at home, which was considered unconventional & very radical at the time.
